Established with a vision to create a bank that would serve the needs of its customers and enrich society as a whole, Unity Trust Bank has approved £100m of loans to organisations contributing to economic, community and environmental change. The Bank has shown considerable progress since becoming an independent bank in 2015, having already achieved record profits in 2016. Safe growth of its loan book cements the Bank’s position as a credible alternative to the high street incumbents, and amplifies its social impact.
Highlights of the Bank’s 2017 H1 social impact include:
• 396 jobs created and protected
• 238 bed spaces created and renovated
• 12 community facilities provided
• Staff volunteered 74 days alongside £3,175 of donations
• 47% women in Senior Management Team
