Unity shortlisted in prestigious regional awards

Unity Trust Bank has been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Awards 2024.

We’re delighted to be in the running for ‘Excellence in Customer Service’ and ‘Excellence in Contribution to the Community’.

The latter is an accolade Unity won in the 2023 GBCC awards, along with the acclaimed overall title of ‘Greater Birmingham Business of the Year’.

Deborah Hazell is the CEO at Unity Trust Bank. She said: “Our headquarters are in the heart of Birmingham and we’re proud to be part of the region’s thriving business community.

“To be shortlisted again this year is immensely rewarding, especially in categories that recognise the importance of customer service and of making a positive contribution to society, which are core to Unity’s values.”

Priding ourselves on our personalised service, our relationship management approach provides one-to-one support to our lending and deposit customers. Our friendly customer service team based in Brindleyplace assist with day-to-day banking enquiries.

As an ethical bank, Unity’s values are deeply embedded in our culture. We host an employee-led engagement programme which supports diversity and inclusion, wellbeing activities and sustainability initiatives. Unity colleagues receive up to five paid days’ a year to volunteer for good causes.

GBCC awards

Nearly 80 businesses are shortlisted for the GBCC awards. The event will take place on Thursday 15 February at the ICC in Birmingham city centre.

The GBCC’s head of membership Lillian Elekan chairs the judges. She said: “The judging panel was impressed by the high calibre of all entries received. The selected finalists embody the vibrant entrepreneurial and innovative spirit that makes Greater Birmingham so special.

“Each recognised business has not only excelled in their respective category but has also left their mark on the economic landscape and community fabric of Greater Birmingham.

“It has been a privilege to support the judging panel this year in honouring these remarkable businesses who embody excellence and are shaping the future of our region.”
