We have won the Socially Responsible Lender of the Year award for the past two years. We are a bank with a social conscience. Our employees are hoping it will be three in a row! The winners are announced at the event’s gala dinner. It’s taking place on Thursday 24th November at the Westminster Park Plaza.

The National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) is the UK’s largest independent trade body for finance brokers with 2,000 members and 140 lender patrons.

A record 230 entries were received for this year’s 15 prestigious categories. Members have until Tuesday 18th October to cast their votes.

A word from Unity

Linda Martin is the National Business Development Manager at Unity Trust Bank. She said: “We have been a proud patron of the NACFB since 2019. We are delighted to have been shortlisted in this category again.

“Our mission is to create a better society, not simply maximise profits. By working in partnership with brokers and intermediaries, we ensure socially-minded SMEs have access to affordable finance.

“These valued and trusted relationships have resulted in vital lending across the UK. We’ve helped businesses to prosper and make a positive difference to their local communities.”

Unity aligns every loan proposal against one or more of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to ensure that funds are used to deliver impact.

In 2021, the bank revealed a record level of lending – up 20% to £733.5m – which helped to create/protect 795 jobs, house 1,024 people, provide 101 community facilities and create/renovate 789 bed spaces for the elderly.

Unity also added to its growing list of accreditations by achieving Carbon Literacy certification.
