Unity Trust Bank celebrates National Volunteers Week 2021

Published: June 2, 2021

Unity Trust Bank is proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week 2021. It takes place from Tuesday 1 June to Monday 7 June.

National Volunteer Week 2021

The dedicated week is a time to say thanks and recognise the contribution of volunteers across the country.

As a socially determined bank, we understand the impact volunteering can make to the community and the people within it. In fact, we offer our employees up to five paid days a year to support and make a difference to local causes.

Our Unity in the Community initiative also encourages fundraising across the bank, and in previous years we’ve made donations to Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, Sifa Fireside and Samaritans.

This week, we’re showcasing some of our colleague volunteering stories:

  • Unity’s Credit & Underwriting team spent a day at a primary school in Kidderminster, digging and laying slabs to create pond fishing space for pupils
  • Project Support Ailsa volunteers as the Welfare Officer and Club Secretary at Solihull Cycling Club, and has played a critical role in trying to secure the club additional funding
  • CSR Manager Paula is a regular volunteer at Companions Real Bread CIC, a not-for-profit community in Bedford helping ex-offenders to resettle into society
