Unity Trust Bank has announced the appointment of Dawn Morris to the new role of Deposits Relationship Manager for the North & Scotland to help develop the bank’s growing customer portfolio.

As a specialist banker with more than 30 years’ experience, Dawn will work with new and existing day-to-day banking customers to better understand their individual needs and support them with their liquidity and investment requirements.

Commenting on her appointment, Dawn said: “I’d never considered working for an ethical bank before. But, when I learned how Unity uses finance to help improve the lives of local communities it touched a nerve.

“Unity’s ethos and values are a natural fit for me and I’m excited to join the team.

“My role is to nurture and grow our deposits portfolio so that we can achieve maximum positive impact across the UK.”

A key focus for Dawn will be talking to customers about their plans and strategies. She’ll also raise awareness about the range of products and services available to help them manage their savings and investments.

Dawn added: “By pro-actively engaging with our deposit customers about their cash flow cycles and investment strategies, we will be able to understand their needs better than we’ve ever done before.

“At the moment, interest rates in the UK are very good. We think it’s important to raise awareness about that so our deposit customers have the confidence to develop their thought process. This will ensure they’re getting maximum benefit from their savings and deposits.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to know Unity’s deposit customers and helping them to grow and deliver impact.”

John Copping is a Relationship Director (North & Scotland) at Unity Trust Bank’s Manchester office. He said: “I am delighted to welcome Dawn to Unity. She has a wealth of experience in banking, including specialising in deposits and cash management. Her knowledge will be a real asset to the bank.

“We already have a dedicated team of relationship managers in place who support our lending customers in the region. Investing in the deposit side of our business will help us enhance the customer experience even more. It allows us to ensure organisations are making the most of their capital.”

Unity reported record lending in its half-year results – exceeding £900m for the first time and growing 9% from last year. The bank has also appointed new Deposits Relationship Managers in its South and Midlands teams.
