Unity Trust Bank shortlisted for two prestigious awards

Published: February 20, 2023

Unity Trust Bank has been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Awards 2023.

As a bank with a social conscience, we are in the running for Excellence in Responsible Business. This was an accolade we were thrilled to win last year. Our ethical bank is also up for the Excellence in Contribution to the Community award.

Unity’s mission is to help create a better society and we only lend to businesses and organisations that address social, economic and/or environmental needs in the communities they serve.

As an ethical bank, our values are also deeply embedded in our culture. As well as offering colleagues up to five paid days’ a year to volunteer for good causes, we have our Unity & Me employee-led engagement programme supporting diversity and inclusion, wellbeing activities and sustainability initiatives.

Deborah Hazell is the CEO at Unity Trust Bank. She said: “We are privileged to have our headquarters in Brindleyplace. We are proud to be part of the Birmingham business community.

“These awards are a highlight of the local business calendar. To be shortlisted in these two categories in particular, is immensely gratifying.

“We are also delighted to sponsor the Excellence in Third Sector category again this year. This category very much aligns with our values. Congratulations to all those shortlisted and I thank you for your excellent work!”

Eighty-three Birmingham-based businesses are in the running for 12 sector awards and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the ICC in Birmingham on Thursday 16 March. Will we see you at the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Awards event this year?
